My First Black Friday

Dear blog readers,

As you could tell from my last blog post, I started my vocational training in August, so this year was my first Black Friday on site.

This year, the period around Black Friday was quite special in light of the current pandemic, which also meant the day itself was different.

Weeks before the actual Black Friday, preparations were already in full swing. Using our new system landscape, we set out as a well-versed team to once again set some records this year.

After what felt like only seconds later, the big day had finally arrived. At the Recruiting Team where I currently work, things didn't really feel that different. But some other colleagues were full of nervous energy because everyone wants to do their part to make this most important period of the year a success. And once again, we successfully tackled Black Friday and set some new records.

The Employer Branding & Events Team did their usual thing and organised several events to motivate the employees. Among other events, we had food trucks where employees could choose from a variety of culinary treats – free of charge, of course. There were also sweets and caffeinated drinks to energise people even more.

All in all, it's fair to say that this period was very exciting for me. I'm happy that I got to be a part of it and I'm looking forward to many more Black Fridays.
