Sustainability is our top Priority

Environmental consciousness and sustainability are priorities, so we set ourselves ambitious goals. When we welcome you as a new employee at our Eurohub in Großbeeren, you will soon realise that the materials we use for packaging must be both ecological as well as economic. This is no easy feat by any means. However, we managed to successfully tackle this issue throughout the past year. For example: by using environmentally friendly, recycled padding, we have used 9.9 tons of plastic less. We switched to air pads because they have a higher percentage of recycled material.

Our paper consumption has also decreased by 13 tons by switching to recycled paper. Instead of wood, we are using cardboard pallets. That's why we bought 700 tons of wood less.

We are well on the way to make our cleaning process at our warehouse and the offices completely chemical-free. We do this by using biodegradable cleaning agents made from microorganisms. This is better for our cleaning staff and the environment. In 2020, we used 2,120 litres of chemical agents less.

With this in mind, we also make sure to use only material with Oeko-Tex seal for our warehouse work clothes, which we obviously provide you with for free. Oeko-Tex is one of the internationally most well-known labels for textiles that were checked for pollutants. We are even below the legal pollutant limit for textiles.

"Thick air" truly does not enter our warehouse. Being a picker, packer or commissioner, you will profit from excellent air quality. All year round, our modern filter installations ensure air quality above the recommended limit by WHO which is 20 μg/ m³, referring to micrograms of fine dust per cubic metre. An independent body even certified that the air inside our warehouse is cleaner than the air outside.
