New to Ingram Micro?

In good Hands with our Onboarding, Trainer and Buddy Teams

About 2,000 employees from 60 countries, many processes, many rules: it's easy for new employees to lose sight when starting to work for us. In order to make sure this doesn't happen, we accompany our newbies for their first few days in the warehouse and give them a thorough introduction into working at Ingram Micro.

If you are new to our Team, you get a personal welcome by our Onboarding Team on your first day – with our Welcome Day. The first stop is at our in-house Covid test laboratory, because safety and health are our priorities. The you get an explanation on everything that's important: holidays, sick notes, how time tracking works, which team you will work in and how the shift plans work.

As a welcome present, you will also get a special "newbie" vest. That is how the experienced workers know who's a new colleague. They can watch out for you and help, if necessary. Our basic equipment also contains new work clothes and safety shoes, and you will get a small Welcome package. With all their new gear, our newbies get a thorough tour of the warehouse. We will show you all the departments, the automation and help you understand how we run our warehouse in Großbeeren. There will be trainings on work and general safety. We also have our very own employee app where you can find all the latest news and chat to your colleagues.

After the Welcome Day, you will get a two-day training in smaller groups. This is when you will learn where your workstation is, how to use a scanner and which process steps are relevant for you.

Depending on the participants, the training may be held in German, Polish or English. Something brand new we are still trying out is our buddy programme. This means every new employee will get a buddy after their training. A buddy is an experienced colleague who can show you all the hints and tricks to make sure you will quickly feel comfortable with the processes.
